Tasks and responsibilities:
Assisting on the development and implementation of educational programmes
The Education Coordinator
• Supports the development of the Village’s educational plan for the National Strategic Plan with the Villlage teams. .
• Coordinates the development, supervises the implementation, and reports and reviews the programme location’s educational work plan for the year to align with the National Strategy and priorities.
• Assists in the the preparation, monitoring and reporting of education budgets in the programme location.
• Supports the implementation of defined policies and guidelines in the location.
• Is involved in child and youth development planning and brings in his/her educational expertise.
• Work closely with M&E Coordinator at national level to develop reporting and analysis mechanism.
• Meets with the beneficiaries and care takers as part of the team to develop Individual Development Plans.
• Reviews and monitors periodically the Indvidual Development Plans of the children and youth in terms of educations and recommends action plans.
Supporting the development of education co-workers
The Education Coordinator
• Manages and supports all educational facility heads and all village educators.
• Promotes strong collaboration among all education facilities and co-workers to encourage effective communication.
• Adopts the HRM cycle and implements all processes (e.g. recruitment, orientation, performance management, grievance and discipline, retirement etc.).
• Provides management support, guidance and leadership to all educational facility heads and all village educators, motivating them to work as one educational team.
• Participates with HR on the evaluation of the performance of educators, parttime teachers, and volunteers for education.
Representing the programme location on educational aspects
The Education Coordinator
• Is the lead external contact and partner for the programme location in relation to education programmes.
• Is a source of information for internal and external stakeholders.
• Promotes child rights and the work of SOS Children’s Villages’ education programmes within the local community and through networking with partner organisations
• Supports/promotes relevant fundraising initiatives with the support of the Programme Director and National Fundraising team
• Establishes and maintains regular contact with relevant government departments, service providers, local community groups and individuals to establish and maintain good relationships/partnerships.
• Fully responsible for conducting an assessment on education levels of children is at the villages, recommend and supervise the distribution of children’s at the nearby schools based on SOS policy.
• Interviews private teachers to support the children’s in their studies during the year.
• Contributes to the strategic vision, planning and quality implementation of the Education program at village levels.
• Coordinates, cooperates and communicates with other Education coordinators in the villages to ensure synergy with the Education policy there.
• Responsible for program budget management and project expenditures and putting in place responsible accountability systems to ensure responsible and efficient spending
• Coordinates and liaises with local/regional education authorities, NGOs, private sector actors and other international partners including UN agencies on all education program activities;
• Contributes to the expansion of Education and vocational and life skills, including assessments, proposal development and reporting as needed;
• Writes regular reports on the implementation of project activities for both internal and external use.
• Ensures all education documents are submitted on time (Annual Work Plan, budget revisions, Performance Monitoring Plan revisions, etc.)
• Participates in the evaluation of schools in the three governorates.
• Other tasks relevant to fulfilling the objective of the education in SOS.
• Coordinates with and prepares volunteers to work with students in an academic capacity (college mentors, volunteer tutors, etc.).
• Develops schedules for volunteers and match with youth.
• Communicates actively with volunteers about responsibilities and logistics related to work at SOS permises.
• Participates in volunteer training and orientations as needed.

Mission of the position:
Under the leadership of the SOS Children’s Village Programme Director, the Safehouse Programme Coordinator coordinates implementation of the programme in the location in line with the “Vision, Mission, Values”, the brand and approved strategies, policies, guidelines of the organisation and national legislation. She is responsible for coordinating the overall process of day-to-day implementation of the program at both the Safe House and the Community Center. She supports CVPD in building a strong network of partner organisations and builds positive relationships with beneficiaries. She is responsible to coordinate strongly with the team in the programme unit. Shee reports to the CVPD.

Key performance areas and main responsibilities:
Programme Development and Management.
Coordinates the implementation of the safehouse program activities in line with the SOS Children’s Villages Programme Policy and related international and national SOS policies, strategies, quality standards and guidelines.
Responds to the needs of the target group and contributes to the development of sustainable social support systems.
Coordinates with the team home assisgnment sheet , signed receipts and attendance sheet and sessions reports of clients .
Facilitates the development of a comprehensive programme service package in cooperation with team.
Regularly reports on safehouse activities, progress towards targets to CVPD and relevant National Office functions and/or child protection authorities as required by national legislation.
Documents and shares good practises and lessons learned within the programme unit to support organisational learning.
Coordinates with relevant stakeholders on the status and receipt of beneficiaries that will reside in the Safe houses.
Manages the reception of clients from the community to the community center.
Coordinates the scheduling, sessions, and activities for the program.
Coordinates services with the village for children residing in the Safe Houses.
Monitoring and Evaluation
Ensures quality management within the program and implements the recommendation from national advisors.
Ensures that proper monitoring and evaluation system is put in place and applied in coordination with the national M&E coordinator.
Implements and updates the programme database, monitors the quality of data entry, and issues database reports for management.
Financial and administrative management
Implements financial and administrative procedures within the programme unit in accordance with defined policies, guidelines and standards and in consultation with financial support staff.
Supports CVPD during the budgeting process in the location.
Monitors budget expenditures in the programme unit, in order to ensure that funds are properly used and in line with the annual plan and budget.
Continually looks for ways to provide quality services in a cost-effective manner.
Day to day money flow management and petty cash of the program .
Follows-up houses maintenance IN COORDINATION with the village maintenance staff .
Attends all relevant cluster meetings.
Prepares beneficiaries’ list and registration form and share it with CVPD and clinical psychologist.
Ensures beneficiaries are respected and properly cared for..
Deals with complaints or issue related to project activities and clients.
Is responsible to raise awareness of the SOS Child Protection Policy principles and to protect children and young people from all forms of abuse, abandonment, exploitation, violence and discrimination
Carries out CS risk assessment within his/her area of work and ensures that relevant actions are put in place to mitigate the existing and possible CS risks.
Ensures strong focus on CS prevention.
Is responsible to report any CS suspicion, concern, allegation or incident immediately, following Child Safeguarding reporting procedures. CS reports should be made to the CS team at programme level and/or to the respective line manager
