Job title: IT- Technical Officer

Reports to: Head of the IT Department.

Number of positions: 1

Start of Assignment: Immediately

Background 

JOHUD is one of the oldest and widest NGOs in Jordan, with a unique national footprint and community links, stemming from more than 45 years of working from and with local communities, in cooperation with regional and international donors, governmental and private sector entities, and civil society organizations. However, it is our presence at the community level and the historic relationships that we have within these communities that define JOHUD as an organization.

Job Purpose:

The IT- Technical Officer is responsible for oversight of IT needs for the activity office, including system installations, maintenance support, and technical advice. The IT- Technical Officer is responsible for ensuring that JOHUD established standards set are followed and that proprietary activity solutions are fully functional, efficient, and cost-effective. S/he provides user support and manages relationships with outside System Support Companies as needed. The IT- Technical Officer will report to the Head of the IT Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Good knowledge of working on ERP systems.
  • Server application maintenance (hardware integration, Windows 2016/2019 server maintenance, Hyper-V, WSUS services, antivirus maintenance, and backup services)
  • Local network maintenance and installation (cabling, switches, and NIC configuration, TCP/IP, NAT, TCP/IP printing, windows network, and domain services on TCP/IP)
  • Experienced in Azure Active Directory, and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Client computer hardware and application installation, configuration, and maintenance (laptops, desktops, printers, software problems, email, communication tools, etc.)
  • Management and supervision of support provided by local companies (ISP or other providers or IT services)
  • Assist in properly inventorying IT equipment, provide annual IT inventory and software audits
  • Work closely with the IT Head on technology improvements and changes as needed.
  • Provide guidance and training to JOHUD users as needed
  • Prepare procurement specifications and SOWs for IT procurements per JOHUD standards
  • Monitor servers, networks, and services analyze log files and investigate errors to diagnose and correct problems
  • Create and develop all project documentation.

-Experience in Supporting ERP Systems

QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERTISE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering
  • 5-8 years of professional experience, including relevant experience in IT system administration” ERP, VLan’s, Firewall configuration, Windows Server 2012-2019, Office 365, Network Storage, Microsoft Azure, Backup solution”, maintenance, user support, and ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated honesty, initiative, and self-motivation in handling all assigned tasks.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English
