About the job
Under the responsibility of the Grant Manager and in close collaboration with the Programme, MEAL, Information management, Technical and Financial Units and with the Project Managers, the Grant Officer will be in charge of:
- Supporting the Grant Manager in overseeing the grant management cycle at mission level
- Coordinating the development of donor reports and ensuring timely and quality submission of documents to donors;
- Supporting the preparation of new concept notes and project proposals;
- Guiding Project Managers and other relevant staff with regards to donor’s requirements and rules;
- Providing training and capacity building to HI staff and partner staff on reporting and donors’ rules;
- Collecting, archiving and sharing context information and reports;
- Supporting the Grant Manager or other HI staff in the preparation of update/reports or presentation to donors or other stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibility 1: Grant Management and Reporting
Activities:
- Update the grant follow up tool and timely disseminates it to the mission;
- Support the development of grant and donor management tools as per the grant action plan;
- Ensure compliance within CN/Proposal regarding technical guidance on donor regulations
- Write and/or consolidate and proofread inputs related to intermediate and final reports for donors, in collaboration with the concerned members of the team;
- Write and/or consolidate and proofread inputs related to concept notes and proposals, in collaboration with the concerned members of the team;
- Maintain updated soft copies of all grant management documents in HI’s grant portfolio;
- In coordination with the various heads of departments, monitor implementation of programs to ensure they are in accordance with donor requirements and HI internal requirements.
Responsibility 2: Capacity building
Activities:
- Support the development of tools and training content on grant management, donor’s rules and reporting;
- Support training and capacity building to all staff of the organization and to HI’s partners staff based on needs;
- Support Project Manager and other staff on understanding donor’s rules and complying with them;
- Support HI’s partners if required for writing and/or submission of concept notes and proposals.
This job description is not exhaustive. The Grant Officer is expected to be flexible according to the mission’s needs and accept extra duties upon needs.
PROFILE REQUIRED
- University degree in a relevant field
- At least 1 year of professional experience on project or grant management with an NGO
- Knowledge of donors’ procedures would be an asset
- Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills
- Excellent writing and reporting skills in English
- Strong organisational skills
- Arabic and English mandatory (oral and written)
- Availability to travel in the region
We offer
HI will offer the successful applicant a Six Month contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance.
Starting Salary: 917JOD
