Field Operations Associate
Minimum age: 22 years old. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.
Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Field Support Specialist or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV Field Operations Associate will:
- Carry out spot checks for the delivery of supplies and materials in the camps;
- Prepare meeting minutes and action trackers for considered partners;
- Carry out post distribution monitoring and provide adequate data analysis;
- Follow up on planned donations and prepare a logistical allocation plan;
- Support in liaising with government officials at the camp level to facilitate the entry of UNICEF contractors and visitors to the camps;
- Support in monitoring and coordinate Incentive Based Volunteer (IBV) recruitments with relevant key partners and contractors;
- Carry out regular facility assessments in the camps;
- Document facility assets and their condition to carry out necessary maintenance and/or replacements;
- Support in monitoring all projects with UNICEF partners and contractors in the camps for the following departments, Child protection, Social protection, Health, Education, Youth and WASH;
- Identify bottlenecks, urgent needs and specific actions relevant to UNICEF interventions and its implementing partners and contractors’ mandate;
- Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area, e.g. Management or area related to Management, Business, Administration, Logistics and/or other related fields.

- At least 2 years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in administration, business, management and logistics or other relevant programmes; experience working in the UN or other international development organization;
- Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills;
- Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing;
- Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development;
- Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel;
- Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet; familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment;
- Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines;
- Sound security awareness;
- Have affinity with or interest in volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development, and the UN System.
